At Painted Sky Opera, we are busily preparing for our next big event: the Black and White Ball on October 19. The Black and White Ball is going to be a fantastically fun night filled with dancing, live music, and performances by some of our singers.
The operatic repertoire is filled with masterworks which reference deeply rooted truths about humanity and touch on issues that are as relevant today as when the operas are written. Rigoletto is one of those operas.
Okay, so let's cut to the chase: as the Artistic Director of this company, I want you come to all of our shows. We spend a lot of time choosing great operas to perform, we find great singers to sing in them, and then we work hard to make our productions top notch. So, yeah, I would encourage you to see all of our shows. But, having said that, you REALLY need to come to see Three Decembers on May 11 and 13 at the Freede Little Theatre at the Civic Center.
In another 18 days, Painted Sky Opera will have held its first honest-to-goodness black tie gala. We've chosen our theme to be the Masquerade Ball which is fitting considering that masks have prominently featured in many operas...
Vote yes on the "Civic Center complex" bond project on the September 12 election to support Painted Sky Opera and the rest of the arts community and continue both the cultural and economic impact that the arts has on Oklahoma City.
