Who are we?

Painted Sky Opera’s Community Artists are a traveling group of opera singers local to Central Oklahoma! We are committed to sharing the joy of opera through performance and education.

What do we do?

We bring music to you! Whether it is for a classroom full of students, community event of all ages, or simply a gathering of friends - we want to create an incredible opera experience for your community!


Meet our Community Artists!

Caroline Carter

Caroline Carter is a versatile performer and an involved member of her OK community! After she received her B.A. in Music Performance with a minor in Arts Management from Meredith College in 2018, she received her M.M. in Opera Performance from Oklahoma City University in 2020. Caroline is currently a vocal instructor at OCU’s Performing Arts Academy and at Oklahoma Christian University. Her recent performances include: Soloist with Opera On Tap in OKC, Winner Feature with the Winner’s Performance of AGADT at Carnegie Hall in NYC, and as Mabel in NC Light Opera’s Pirates of Penzance

Ethan Snowden

Ethan Snowden is a tenor, director, and teacher based in Oklahoma City. Ethan received his Bachelors in music education in 2016 , as well as a masters in vocal performance and vocal pedagogy in 2021, all from the University of Central Oklahoma, where he studied with Dr. Barbara DeMaio. He has been seen in such roles as Prince Charming (Viradot’s Cendrillon), Count Almaviva (Barber of Seville), and Ferrando (Cosí fan tutte)

Hayden Turner

Hayden Turner is a Baritone in the Oklahoma City area. He is from the small town of Kingfisher Oklahoma and is finishing a degree in music at the University of Central Oklahoma. This young artist has worked with Painted Sky Opera on Productions that include Rigoletto, Carmen, La Bohème and the 2022 Summer Outreach Program the Enchanted Forest. Hayden is extremely excited to reprise the role of the Strongman in the whimsical children’s opera Sid the Serpent who wanted to Sing! 

Mackenzie Cook

Mackenzie Cook is a mezzo-soprano and voice teacher based in the Oklahoma City metro area. She is currently a second-year graduate student stuyding vocal performance/vocal pedagogy at the University of Central Oklahoma under Dr. Barbara DeMaio. Mackenzie received her Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Oral Roberts University in 2022. A few of her favorite opera roles include “Bon Appétit” (Julia Child), “Dido and Aeneas” (Sorceress) and “Die Fledermaus (Orlofsky). Mackenzie is currently a voice teacher at UCO’s Central Community School of Music and a member of the Oklahoma City chapter of Opera on Tap! She is excited to partner with Painted Sky Opera as the Juggler in “Sid the Serpent” and bring this exciting feature to children across Oklahoma.
