An American Gothic tale of real-life murder. Lizzie Borden has a difficult relationship with her blustering father and her scheming step-mother. Some might even say that Lizzie has an axe to grind with her parents, which she finally resolves in one fateful day and 40 whacks of that axe. Painted Sky Opera closes their eighth season with this visceral true-crime thriller about one of America’s most infamous murders.
