We’ve been so excited by the interest in the Painted Sky Opera Chorale. When something new begins, a few good questions usually follow, so here are answers to the ones we’re hearing most often.


🎶 DO I NEED TO AUDITION?

No auditions required.

This chorale is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and joyful. If you love to sing and want to make music with others, you belong here.


🎼 DO I NEED TO BE ABLE TO READ MUSIC?

Not necessarily.

Some singers will read music fluently; others will learn primarily by ear. Both are completely welcome. Rehearsals will be structured to support everyone in the room.


🎤 WHAT KIND OF MUSIC WILL WE SING?

The fun stuff.

Expect thrilling opera choruses and big ensemble moments—music that’s exciting, expressive, and deeply satisfying to sing. This is about open, healthy, full-voiced singing and the joy of making sound together.


🗓 WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

Rehearsals take place once a week, on Thursdays from 6:30–8:30 PM, beginning February 19, at Westminster Presbyterian Church
(4400 N Shartel, Oklahoma City).

Our first performance is May 17, 2026.

We understand that life happens. This experience is meant to be enriching—not stressful.


🎭 IS THIS ONLY FOR EXPERIENCED OPERA SINGERS?

Not at all.

Whether you’ve sung opera choruses before, come from another choral background, or simply miss singing in a group, this chorale is for you.
